Goodbye, Favorite Bag

I had a Nine West overnight bag similar to the one above. Except, the black straps were red and the checked pattern was navy and grey. I loved this bag. I say "loved" because it broke and had to be thrown out :( I cannot find a replacement anywhere and now I need to go on a quest for a new overnight bag. I never realized how attached I was to this bag until it died. If you see this bag in a store, PLEASE call me!

Dog Day at the Park

This past Friday, Brian and I loaded up Riley into the car and drove to the Oakland Coliseum for Dog Day at the Park - a take your dog to the game event! We got to watch the A's game (bummer of a loss), enjoy a beer and some nachos and have Riley right by our side, the whole time. Amy also joined us, which Riley was excited about, too.
Here he is checking out the scene.
Enjoying the great view with his daddy.
Family baseball game photo opp - Riley is the A's #1 fan!

Happy Birthday, Old Man!

Happy Birthday, Tim!
Last weekend, in addition to grilling with friends, we got to treat Brian's dad to a birthday dinner out. One of the nicest things about being back in California is getting to celebrate our parents' birthdays with more than just a phone call or a mailed card. We found a new camera battery, a gorillapod and a Giants t-shirt that were all perfect birthday gifts for Tim, more affectionately referred to by his sons, etc. as The Old Man.

Summer BBQin'

One of my favorite things about summer are BBQs!
Last weekend, my parents were kind enough to open up their home to me and a few friends (well, they were out of town, but I got the thumbs up beforehand). We bbq'd burgers and corn and had yummy, fresh fruit salad and green salad. On top of that, the dogs had a blast and we got some hut tubbin' in.
Jess and Amy getting their grub on - yummy!

The crew enjoying the hot water and some cold beers.

And best of all, Riley recovering from a fun night with some sun bathing by the pool. That dog has the life, I tell ya!

Garden Goods

Our broccoli has grown! We added some home grown, fresh broccoli from our garden to our stir fry dinner - yum, yum! Apparently, gophers don't like broccoli, but it seems they sure love zucchini because our little yard-guest ate all of the roots on our zucchini plant JUST has it was starting to flower. Sad! Now it's time to find a way to run him off.....

RIP Bogey

Dear Bogey,
You lived a long, lively 14 years surrounded by a family that loved you. I hope doggy heaven is well supplied with chewy-chewies, table scraps, and cheese. I'm sure you're already parading around with Kasey-girl, getting into trouble. You'll be missed, old boy. We love you.

Summer Catch Up

Wow, I've been a BAD BLOGGER! I can't believe it's been over two weeks since my last post. Let's catch you up on the happenings of our life....
Fourth of July weekend was pretty mellow, but fun. We threw a small, casual party for our friends, Jess and Dan, to celebrate their recent engagement. Had a ton of fun and got to visit with a handful of great friends!
The happy couple, smooching, after the toast.
Happy to spend some time with Andra and Cat, but sad that they're moving to Seattle....but now I have an excuse to go visit!
To celebrate this country's birthday, we just went to our friends', Lisa and Adam's for some grilling and cornhole. I advanced once in the cornhole tournament - woohoo!
The three day weekend was followed by a very busy work week, me in Denver, Brian in his first week at the new job....but we packed up and headed to Orange County for Megan & Michael's wedding!

Megan was a STUNNING bride. So gorgeous and calm.
Had a great time visiting with the old college friends....I think Brian and Raja have a new found friendship. The Loving Cup was out in full force, too.
Megan and Michael are a picture perfect couple - had a great time in the OC for their wedding and got to experience my first Jewish wedding. Mozel tov, Megs & Michael!
Today is Grandpa's birthday (77?) - Happy Birthday, Grandpa!
Brian and I are looking forward to a mellow, low-key weekend.....maybe some sunshine, swimming, grilling, reading, hiking...who knows?
