A Day Late...Of Course

(Photo Below = Brennan on Brian's 21st Birthday, 6 and a half years ago!)
Well, although I made a promise to make an effort to improve my birthday posting timing, I have already crapped the bed. I'm a day late to wish my brother-in-law, Brennan, a HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY!!!!! I'm sure you're off somewhere enjoying unemployment and the early post college days....enjoy your birthday week!

October 23

Bri Bri has to have his ACL repaired. October 23 is surgery day. Wish him luck and a speedy recovery!!! This is a good move to make - better to have it repaired now than when there is too much damage or the timing is bad.

Now, all we need to do is train the dog how to put together ice packs and make sandwiches for his patient. Maybe even drive the car...

Think it's possible?

To buy or not to buy...

On Friday evening, Brian and I went couch browsing....and of course found couches we want. It's time...our couches have served us well, but they are old. They've lived in California and in Colorado - in four different homes. Brian has to flip our couch over once a month to bang it back together. So...it's time. We tried a bunch of couches - some were too crunchy and plastic-y, some were too soft and scratched easily, some looked like they belonged in a 75 year old's house. We thought we couldn't afford leather, but most of the sets were surprisingly affordable - especially this one, our favorite. So....to buy or not to buy?

GABF

Last night, we headed to the Great American Beer Festival (http://www.greatamericanbeerfestival.com/) with friends. Never been, but have heard so much about it. Makes sense because we had a fantastic time! Definitely drank some nasty beer, but still had plenty good beer and tons of fun. The Brians grew mustaches just for the event...gross.

Suffocated

Dear Guido at the Gym,

Although I commend you for taking care of your body and working out tirelessly, I would appreciate it if you could not put an entire bottle of cologne on and then sweat like you've never sweat before and then go sit in the pool area to relax and catch your breath. The pool area happens to be very humid with little air circulation. Your overwhelming cologne fumes were practically choking me during my workout. I promise you, two to three sprays of cologne will do just fine.

Thanks,
Gina

Bad Birthday Blogger

Attention - I'd like to apologize to all family and friends who missed out on a birthday blog dedication. I admit to being as guilty as this cute puppy when it comes to prompt birthday wishes via our blog. Maybe it will be a 2010 New Year's Resolution, who knows.

Fall is Here!

Fall is here! It's been in the low 50s all this week - not only is it fall according to the calendar, but the weather is telling us, too! Long sleeves, cozy socks, soup for lunch, hot coffee, TV season premieres, football, holiday planning - and the list goes on! Before we know it, Christmas tunes will be playing on the radio.

Baby Noah

Well, Katie and Noah have left and we had a fantastic weekend. It was so nice to have family visit for the weekend - and to finally meet Noah! He is definitely one of the cutest babies I've ever known. Brian and Riley loved him, too! He was soooooo good - barely cried and smiled and laughed a ton!

Below, Noah eating breakfast and looking super cute!
Noah in the neighbor's saucer - looking cute!

Brian has baby-phobia

This weekend, my cousin-in-law, Katie is coming to visit for a few days with her 6 month old baby Noah! I can't wait to finally meet Noah and spend some time with Katie, but Brian is officially afraid of the baby.
Our conversation last night:
Me: Maybe you can watch him and Katie and I can go get pedicures or something if she wants
Brian: NO NO NO NO. I don't know how to care for a baby.
Me: The number one rule is don't shake him. And change his diaper.
Brian: No. Not doing it.
And.....apparently, babies "can't" go to restaurants....our IM conversation this afternoon:
gina_nardi: how does chophouse sound for tomorrow night?
Brian Rogers: fine but the baby cant eat there
Brian Rogers: do you just bring the baby its own food?
gina_nardi: dude, the baby doesnt eat steak
Brian Rogers: i know
gina_nardi: yes, you just feed a baby milk or baby food
gina_nardi: it's not like we're going to order rack of lamb for the baby
Brian Rogers: weird
Brian Rogers: i might
Brian Rogers: i can get leftovers
gina_nardi: oh my god

Happy Belated Birthday, Gabriel!

I'm two days late, but we were on the road so I hope I'm forgiven.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRO-MAN!
Welcome to your mid-twenties.

Yellowstone!

For Labor Day weekend, Brian, Riley and I headed north to Yellowstone - about a 9 hour drive north! We had reserved a campsite and even though I'd thrown out my back and he sprained his knee, Mr. & Mrs. Gimp pressed on and made the trip. Very much worth it!
We encountered this bison in the road while driving around the park - apparently this is normal!
Riley looking cute in the car - this is what he did most of the trip.

On the way home, we stopped to take a picture with the sign since we arrived in the middle of a thunderstorm.

The Grand Tetons...on the way home. They were breathtaking.
