Belated Birthday Blogs

Of course, I was bad at the birthday blogs again this month. So, now my new goal is to at least have a blog dedicated to hitting a bunch of birthdays all at once...

Happy Birthday, Sienna!

Happy Birthday, Christina!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Danny!

Baby Shower Success

Katie's baby shower was a success - look at all the loot she left with! A book for the little baby, a lamp, some clothes, some bath goodies, a diaper genie, a high chair, a bouncy chair, a video monitor system, and lots of other goodies!
....AND the Orzo Salad was a hit!

Happy 29 Years!

Today is mom and dad's 29th wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary!

Sibling Love

Today, Riley watched Houdini take a bath. He so wanted to play with her, but she only gave him the evil eye and warmed up her tail a bit for a slap. Too bad she doesn't love him back.

Baby Shower

Tomorrow is Katie's baby shower!
Above, is a picture of my first ever Diaper Cake (not really a cake, but an arrangement of diapers and other baby things that resembles a cake!). I am quite proud.

What's on the menu, you ask?
Chicken Salad on Mini Croissants
Fruit Salad
Orzo Salad
Caesar Salad
Vanilla Cupcakes with Chocolate Frosting

Recipes, please?
Well.....the Chicken Salad is from Costco so nothing special there. BUT the Orzo Salad is realllllyyyyyy good and the recipe can be found here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/everyday-italian/orzo-salad-recipe/index.html

This is a dog treadmill from www.inthecompanyofdogs.com - a catalog I get in the mail. All I have to say is, "Really?!!?!"

Top 10.....

There are many, many reasons why I will miss Denver when we leave. Aside from the amazing friends I've made here, I'm calling out some specifics.....
1. The Snow
2. Weekends in the Mountains

3. Riley's dog-friends

4. Denver SSI Holiday Party (part1)
Denver SSI Holiday Party (part2)

5. Thunder & Lightning

6. REAL camping

7. The view of the Rockies from our driveway

8. Dog Parks

9. Parking at work

10. Central time zone TV schedule

There are probably several other things I'll miss that I'll come up with later....these 10 were easy. This is NOT an easy place to say goodbye to.

Birthday Visit

Dear Mom & Dad,
Please come to Denver for one last visit for your first born child's 28th birthday. PPPPPPPLLLLLLEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEEEEE. I'm only going to be 28 once.
Love,
Gina

MLK You Made My Day!

Today was a FABULOUS day. I love having days off work with no plans. Can we start a petition to incorporate one of these monthly?
Today, I.....
  • Woke up at 8am (Riley slept in until 9!)
  • Had a work call at 9 (booooo!)
  • Watched a pirated version of the first episode of Season 4 Big Love (and did some work)
  • Watched "The Ugly Truth" on On Demand (and did some work)
  • Did laundry
  • Took Riley to the Dog Park, which should have been called the Mud Park
  • Went to Hobby Lobby for odds and ends for Katie's baby shower
  • Went to Target for some grocery items and other random purchases
  • Gave Riley a bath
  • Went to the gym with Bri Bri and swam
  • Got a mani and a pedi
  • Made dinner: grilled pork loin chops, grilled asparagus and zucchini and baked potatoes
  • Made an Artichoke Torta (test recipe for Katie's baby shower)
  • Baked Chocoate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
  • Put fresh sheets on the bed

I really think I could make a great house wife. Really. Look how productive I was - AND I even did a little bit of work!

Hello, 2010

We rang in the New Year this year with Alia and Dave (and some of Dave's friends) in Blackhawk. We had a limo and champagne and good music and lots of cash - wooooo! The new Ameristar Casino is pretty sweet....I'll have to take another trip back.
Brian ended the night up $60 or so and I broke even - which I thought was pretty good considering we were playing $25 blackjack hands!

Although I'm a day late, I still owe my dad a "Happy Birthday" blog. He turned 59 years old yesterday - last year in the fifties. Happy Birthday, Dad! Let's start planning a family trip for the big 6-0!
