What IS this?

I don't know if this beauty even needs a post to accompany it. I snapped this photo while touring my Nonna's new private home....
It's super, isn't it?

Spoiled Pup

Here is a photo of a SPOILED DOG...that's him in our tent, on my sleeping bag, on the air mattress. Tsk, tsk....but man is he CUTE.

Labor Day 2K9

Today, I booked a campsite at the Grant Village Campground in Yellowstone National Park. Woohoo! We've lived only 8 hours away for three and half years and are just now finally going! Road trip for me, Brian and Riley for Labor Day weekend!

The Bread

About two and a half weeks ago, I went to Albuquerque for a girls weekend at Alia's house. Alia had a baggie full of creamy mush that we all questioned. She called it Amish Friendship Bread and said we'd make it while we were there. I definitely thought to myself, "nasty".
Fast forward a few hours and Alia is a little Betty Crocker in the kitchen and she's making the bread, but it turns out it's more like a cake - like pound cake or coffee cake. AND the best part is that it's a bundt cake. I love a bundt cake.

Let me tell you, this bread, this cake...was AMAZING! It's like a cross between coffee cake and spice cake and french toast. Soooo tasty.
I took home a starter (the baggie full of creamy mush) and have made two batches so far - passed along starters to the Katies and plan to bring the latest loaf to work tomorrow with more starters.

Who wants a starter?

On your mark...

Brian and I signed up today for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Denver. On October 4th, we'll be walking in memory of family friend Kathy Wheeler and in support of Brian's aunt, Sandy Crooks.
If you're local, come walk with us!!!

Farewell

Farewell to Kathy, an amazing woman! She battled what started as stage 4 breast cancer for six and a half years - what a battle! You will be missed, but never forgotten. You will live on forever in the memories you've created and left with those who love you.
